Job Description Summary
We're seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Cat Colony Care Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in maintaining the health and well-being of our cat colony by ensuring a clean, safe, and enriching environment. This position is ideal for someone who loves animals, is attentive to their needs, and values creating a sanitary and organized habitat for them.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Colony Husbandry:
    • Sweep and mop floors in cat housing areas to maintain a clean environment.
    • Provide daily meals by feeding wet food and replenishing dry food.
    • Refresh water bowls to ensure constant access to fresh water.
    • Empty, wash, and refill litterboxes for optimal hygiene.
    • Replace any soiled bedding with fresh, clean linens to promote comfort and cleanliness.

  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Observe the general well-being of the cats and promptly report any health or behavior concerns to the Nursing Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience with animal care, particularly with cats, is preferred but not required.

  • Attention to Detail and commitment to maintaining a sanitary and organized environment.

  • Communication Skills to effectively report observations and any concerns to the Nursing Supervisor.

  • GED/High School diploma required

    Hours: Saturdays through Tuesdays (flexible on specific days) 8am - 11am or 9am - 12pm

    Additional Information:

  • This role requires physical activity, including lifting and cleaning tasks.

  • Candidates should be comfortable working independently.

  • Must be able to lift >25 pounds with minimal assistance.
